We are seeking applications from interested education support staff desiring to join our community in a casual capacity as a Teachers' Assistant.
Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums Christian School is a boutique co-educational Christian school established by the local Bundjalung elders and Tweed Action Group in partnership with a community which has over four decades of experience in education, the Pacific Group of Christian Schools. The total student population will be no more than 60 when the school has reached its capacity. The vision of the School is to provide a Christian educational community as a centre of teaching, learning, and serving excellence founded on Biblically based beliefs, values, and behaviour. Pacific Gulgangali Jarjums Christian School is an exciting place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children can learn about their culture and receive a quality curriculum-based education. The School is located in Tweed Heads on the far north coast of NSW, sharing the grounds with Pacific Coast Christian School and Pacific Hope Christian School.

Desired Skills and Experience
The role of a Teachers' Assistant is to assist the Teacher in meeting the vision and the priorities of the School. The Teachers' Assistant must see the role as a calling, and be flexible in all things.
Skills Required:
Willing to be an advocate for Students with special needs
Understanding of legal requirements in regard to Disability Standards for Education 2005
Work under the direction of the class teacher
Able to liaise with teachers to make adjustments for students with special needs
Skills and experience in assisting students who require support or willingness to learn
Teaching or teaching support training is an advantage
